Tabriz is the most populated city in northwestern Iran. Also, Tabriz is one of the historical capitals of Iran. Now, Tabriz the present capital of East Azerbaijan province. It is the sixth most populous city in Iran. Tabriz Metro first line opened on 28 August 2015 with 7 km length and 6 stations.

Metro Station Design

The Station, would be an opportunity to create a public urban landscape. The entrances are just silent and simple monument in composition with other elements of landscape. Also,The entrances from the ground level flow to the underground levels.

Metro station at the ground urban layer is just a public urban landscape which is linked to urban context around. The entrances are two simple volume inside the landscape. Besides,Some design elements such as colorful wall, furniture, graphic signs and etc. flow from ground layer to the lowest layer underground continuously. As a consequence, these elements create a unified space.

Metro Interior Design

The proposal is characterized by a remarkable investment in public life and by reframing the civic space as destination. Also, The design complete with choice hardscaping, water features, a designated picnic area and a wifi coverage. Besides, a habitable roof sports raised public gardens that extend over the entire area of the station.

This place is not only a station but also is an urban space which is seen by 21’000 citizen. Defining free spaces at two levels in order to manage the traffic of station is main decision to program the station. At the Ground Level assign to an urban landscape and the underground assign to open gallery, bookstore, stage and two cafe. Predicting of taxi station at the corner of the site which would be out of station area beneath, due to construction and loading limitation.

 

  • Cultural activities underground: Café, Street art and live music, Musical wall, Time Explorer, Book store, Culturla goods store, Multimedia wall.
  • Entrance no.3  as a reflective object which represent the old building and urban contex.
  • Entrance no.4 as a roofless urban corridor.
